The Waiting is finally over!
The matric results will be released on 20th of January 2023. The matric class of 2022 are eagerly awaiting for the outcomes of their hard work. This is the start of the new chapter for students. Some will be going to universities, college or work. Some will be disappointed in themselves.
The results may make learners feel alone and isolated. There are ways to cope with feelings of failure both during and after your exam. It is the important time for parents to support their children as they will be faced with a rollor coaster of emotions and mental health is vital for whatever outcomes that will be received on the day of the matric results.

Getting your matric results just got smarter. No more rushing to the shops to buy the newspaper on result day. Through the GPG Matric App, you can access your results from the comfort of your home as soon as they are released. The department has introduced a web based app for matriculents to check their results.

NATIONAL STUDENT FINANCIAL AID SCHEME
This will certainly make learners happy because there was a petition moving around social media to bring the old way of releasing results this comes after the department of education announced that the matric Results will no longer be published in media houses meaning that learners will not be able to receive their results in newspapers and via sms. This concerned learners due to the fear that they may receive bad results at school in front of their friends who may have passed. This will be devastating for the learners who failed or who didn't pass well.
The decision not to release results in media houses was taken to comply with the requirements of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
The Department states that this rule was introduced mainly to protect and respect the right to privacy and to protect against unlawful collection, retention, dissemination and use of personal information belonging to school pupils.
Media houses, business and entities that will fail to comply with the law will face penalties, pay a fine of R10 million and a jail time of 10 years
