North-West Department of Health invites North West province residents to apply to study Nursing for the 2023 academic year at North-West College of Nursing.

PROGRAMMES OFFERED AT THE NORTH WEST NURSING COLLEGE
Diploma in Nursing (3 years)
Diploma in Nursing is a 3-year program, that leads to registration with the South African Nursing Council as a General Nurse. The program consists of a theory and clinical component which must be completed in each academic year.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
SENIOR CERTIFICATE
Senior Certificate Matriculants with English and Biology/Physiology ( C ) Symbol on Standard and ( D ) Symbol in Higher grade, all other symbols must add up to a minimum Admission Point Score (APS) score of 18 POINTS.
NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE
National Senior Certificate Matriculants (NSC): Compulsory subjects; English (Level 4) and Life Science (Level 4), any other two (2) approved NSC subjects with Level 4 (except Life Orientation), and all other symbols must add up to a minimum APS score of 23 points.
Higher Certificate in Auxiliary nursing (1year)
Higher certificate in Auxiliary Nursing is a 1-year program that may serve as a bridging course to Diploma in Nursing. The program consists of a theory and clinical component which must be completed in the academic year.

BURSARY
Bursary applicants need to FILL the bursary application form and private funding applicants to fill the private student application form (private students will be responsible for payment of their studies.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- RSA ID copy
- Copy of senior certificate or national senior certificate
- Marriage certificate (if applicable)
- Curriculum vitae
- An affidavit from the commissioner of oath, stating that you are unemployed and have not previously benefitted from the Department of Health and North West College of Nursing bursary systems.
- Serving officers (nurses) should attach copies of their professional certificates and proof of registration with the SANC
if you fail to comply with the information above you will be disqualified)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KEEP IN MIND
- You should stay in North West province to apply
- Pass assessment test with 50%
- Disabled individuals may apply only of they can carry nursing duties
- Applicants who are registered or accepted in other institutions will not be consired
- Only ONLINE APPLICATIONS will be accepted
- Only shortlisted applicants will be required to submit certified documents
- Communication will be open to applicants who are consired
- Applicants are encouraged to apply only if they meet requirements
- Recognition of prior learning will be handled as per NWCON PRL Policy
- If you are not contacted by the College by 28 February 2023 consired your application unsuccessful
