PHAKISA HOLDINGS 2023 IT LEARNERSHIP picture

Phakisa Holding is a South African company that provides workforce solutions to various industries, including mining, manufacturing, and construction. As part of its commitment to developing and empowering its workforce, Phakisa Holding has launched an IT learnership program.

The IT learnership program is designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the information technology industry. The program is open to young South Africans who have completed their matriculation and are interested in pursuing a career in IT.

The IT learnership program is a twelve-month program that consists of both theoretical and practical training. The theoretical training is conducted in a classroom setting, while the practical training is conducted in a real-world environment. During the program, learners will gain valuable experience in various IT fields, including programming, networking, and software development.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with information technology
  • Attend classroom activities and practical on-the-job training
  • Complete logbooks for work-based learning
  • Compete formative and summative assessments and achieve the required level
  • Demonstrate commitment to work in the industry

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Good Communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Takes pride in personal appearance and hygiene

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION 

  • Completed Grade 12 (matric) certificate
  • Passed Mathematical Literacy
  • Passed English
  • Computer Literacy

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • South African citizen
  • Unemployed and can commit 12 months to the programme
  • Between the ages of 19 – 25
  • Be able to commute to the workplace on their own
  • Not be studying (part time or full time) during the duration of the Learnership
  • Not have completed the same learnership previously

The Learnership will commence on 1 April 2023 and be completed on 31 March 2024. This work-based learning programme leads to a NQF level 3 in Information technology  and practical experience in the workplace whilst earning an allowance.
